OPERATIONS
A distribution business is built on service and speed. What distinguishes one distributor from another is its ability to 1) offer products that the market requires, 2)store these products safely and efficiently, and 3) distribute these products timely to the end users. Min-Chem has built a reputation by exhibiting excellence in the above areas.

Customers are called on a regular basis by a trained professional technical sales force. The products that customers require are identified along with the packages required and the types of delivery. We then contact our supplier network throughout the world and establish supplies for the required products. Provided the pricing, quality and availability is attractive, we then begin to order these products from our various suppliers. Particular care has to be taken to assure inventory is maintained and stock is purchased in a timely manner to allow for maintenance of suitable stocks to serve our customers.

Difficulty often occurs in ordering from Europe and Asia due to long ocean shipping times, other shipping problems, dock problems, and land transportation thereafter. Min-Chem is skilled in overseas freight, customs, duty and the vagaries of international currency transactions. Competence in these areas distinguishes Min-Chem from other less successful distribution companies.

Once we establish the efficient chain of supply, we must then establish an efficient method of getting the material to customers. This requires expertise in Canadian transportation and transportation laws. Opportunities then must be created for combination of products to take advantage of freight reductions and combination of customer deliveries for the same purpose.

The fact that the products we are moving via distribution are often chemicals and sometimes hazardous, requires training and competence in the safe handling of these products, i.e. proper storage, packaging, delivery and record keeping. With the Company supported Right to Know legislation, Material Safety Data Sheets and Certificates of Analysis are provided with each product handled.

On the customer end, often because of the technical nature of our products, our sales representatives are required to not only have a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the products we handle, but have the same ability in terms of the way the customer will use the products. Hence, the people we hire tend to be technically competent people and in many cases, could operate our customers' production facilities.

Min-Chem has focused its sales activities in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. However, we also conduct business in the maritime provinces and in western Canada.

The manufacturers that we represent and the products that we sell can be found in this web site. Some products will be repeated as they are used in more than one industry.
